Thomas Louis Simons, age 56 of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on May 27, 2019. Born in Detroit on June 13, 1962 to James Simons & Lois (Kirchner) Simons. Loving father of Nicholas G. Simons. Dear brother of Diann (David) Sobolewski. Thomas is also survived by his two nephews; James Sobolewski and Mitchell Sobolewski and eight cousins: Leslie Simons-Boulton, Gayle Anderson-Winn, Lura Winn, Sibleigh Julander, Coral Dixon, Bethany (Brian) Bolli, Kaedyn Bolli and Aila Bolli.
Thomas graduated from L’Anse Creuse High School in Harrison Township, MI. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from Ferris State University, attended Wayne State University Hospital administration program with a two year hospital pharmacy residency at Henry Ford Hospital, and earned a Law Degree from Loyola University Chicago.
Tom had an appreciation for music, a high degree of intellectual curiosity about a range of subjects and enjoyed going to various museums. His wit was dry and he had a goofy sense of humor. His greatest gift in life was being blessed with his son Nicholas. He often spoke of being incredibly proud of his son and had fond memories of their camping trips together.
Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
No services are planned at this time. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Detroit Michigan. A private memorial ceremony will be held at a future date.
