Thomas Patrick Eggert

Thomas Patrick Eggert, age 57, of Plymouth passed away on March 9, 2026. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on February 20, 1969 to his parents, the late Patricia (née Proske) and Duane Eggert.

He is the beloved and devoted husband of Carla (née Blackwell) Eggert; loving father of two children – Rebecca (Paul) Pouch and Joshua (Rachel) Eggert and proud grandfather of Martin Verbruggen, Aspen Eggert, and Wesley Eggert. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brothers, Mike Eggert and Matt (Joanne Prockup) Eggert, his brother-in-law Matt Blackwell, and sisters-in-law Nicole Clarke and Stacey Clarke, as well as his nephews Phil Eggert, Tom Wick, Ken Wick, and Jacob Blackwell, and nieces Brandy Wick and Sammi (Kane Woldhagen) Blackwell. He also leaves behind 4 great nieces and a great nephew.

He worked in automotive seating at Adient (formerly Johnson Controls) for 26 years in the Prototype Shop, most recently as a Prototype Inspector. He enjoyed the variety in his work and liked the investigative nature of it and pinpointing issues in the products so they could be corrected, and products made safer for the public. Before that, he worked for many years in the RV industry at Vicars Trailer Sales and then Camping World, where he met his bride.

He thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world with Carla, and was looking forward to seeing much more of it in retirement. They travelled to Peru and Paris, took a Viking River Cruise along the Rhine River through the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Switzerland, and travelled across the US, as well, always finding beautiful places to hike.

He was good at virtually everything and could do anything (or figure it out). He was crafty, handy, kind, warm-hearted, generous, and so funny and entertaining. He was usually the one to take initiative and set up gatherings with family, friends, or coworkers. He truly enjoyed life and people. He was an avid photographer and built his own darkroom, spending hours in there developing photos. He took great pride in his home and yard, planting beautiful flowers and plants, and keeping things neatly trimmed.

He will be missed by so so many. He had a way of making people feel comfortable, and was the go-to guy for those looking for someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on.
