Terri Lynn Scrimger, age 63 of Canton, passed away on May 20, 2026. She was born at Mount Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan on January 31, 1963 to her parents, the late Janet (née Schafer) and Norman Kish.
She is the beloved and devoted wife of Dean Scrimger and loving mother of two daughters – Emily Scrimger and Mallory Scrimger.
All who know Terri also know that she cherished her role as a wife and mother above all else, and her family was the center of her life. Her greatest joy in life was in caring for her husband, Dean and their girls, Emily and Mallory. They brought her immense happiness and fulfillment in her cherished role as a wife and mother.
Terri had a pure heart that was made for motherhood and so it came naturally for her. She was there for her daughters for every moment, big or small. The amount of love she had in her heart was bigger than any love they have ever known.
Terri’s loving heart was many sizes too big, never too small. She just wanted everyone to be cared for and be happy. She saw herself as a misfit in this big world, and so, had no inflated image of who she was. Two of her favorite cartoon characters were; Charlie Brown & the Elf that wanted to be a dentist in the Rudolph Christmas cartoon. At the same time she was a vibrant woman and a devoted partner to her husband. Terri loved to be friends with other people and kept in touch with all of them over the years. She was sincerely interested in their lives. All those who knew her, knew this, and felt her unconditional love for them. Their time with her became treasured memories and, even after long periods apart, they would reunite with her with seemingly no gaps in their relationships with her.
Terri was talented in many areas. She had a sharp eye for interior design. She had a classy, unique and refined fashion style. She was a terrific cook and baker. She would always want to help design, make or build something. She had a surprising interest in cars & trucks. And she was a terrific dancer!
Terri’s love for others gave her the great amount of strength it took to endure the seemingly insurmountable amount of suffering that was hers for the last few years of her life. But she made it look easy, still being her usual, caring self through it all. If you knew Terri, you knew her as one of the strongest, dependable people in your life.
During the several years of her terminal illness Terri accomplished reading the entire Christian Bible for the first time in her abbreviated life. During her last few years she wore her First Communion necklace with a cross on it constantly. She lived the Bible’s lessons through action, taking care of others and serving them through love. Her name is bound to appear in the Book of Life in Heaven. May we all reunite with her there someday.
No Memorial Service is planned for Terri at this time. So please submit any remembrances you have to the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home website.
