Susan May Hutnik

Susan May Hutnik, age 64 of Plymouth passed away on July 18, 2025.

She was born in Livonia, Michigan on September 1, 1960 to her parents, the late Ethel (née Begal) and Joseph Hutnik. Susan was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Paul Melvin and loving mother of two sons – Evan Melvin and Liam Melvin. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings Doug Hutnik, Karen (Doug) Reistroffer, Gary (Julia) Hutnik and JoAnn Hutnik, in-laws, nieces, nephew, and many dear, supportive friends.

She is pre-deceased by her daughter Stephanie Melvin.

Susan loved nature, often enjoying long walks with friends. She has had a special place in her heart for animals from adopting strays as a girl to the treasured family pets of her adult years. She was a respected local business woman, owning and running the family’s garage door business in Plymouth, with her husband Paul, for over 25 years.

Friends may gather at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 beginning at 10:00 A.M. to be led by Reverend Drex Morton.
