Stephanie Layton Dobronsky of Canton, MI died unexpectedly in Novi on April 25 at the age of 33. She was born in Nashville, TN to Mark and Karen (Gilchrist) Layton on March 29, 1991. She spent most of her life growing up as an expat kid in Mexico City, Mexico, and spent her high school years in Plymouth, MI, where she graduated from Canton High school in 2009. She received her BS in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University and a BSN from Eastern Michigan University, and she worked as a nurse in the University of Michigan hospital and most recently for Blue Cross Blue Shield Michigan.
Stephanie met the love of her life, Sayan Dobronsky in 2015 in Michigan and they married in the Washington, DC LDS temple on May 5, 2016. She always said that she felt like she won the jackpot when she married Sayan, and nobody made her laugh harder. They welcomed their beautiful daughter, Lia Mercedes Dobronsky, on February 2, 2019. Being Lia’s mother was the single greatest joy in Stephanie’s life.
Stephanie was an introvert who always sought to be in service of others, which is part of what made her such an excellent nurse. She was kind and caring to her patients, no matter how much they complained or tried to touch her butt. She was a devoted friend and a gracious and attentive listener. She was always a safe place for people to reach toward when they were struggling.
Stephanie lit up every room she entered. She had the most infectious laugh, and she found almost everything hilarious from the absurd to the mundane. She loved music and played the piano, guitar, and cello beautifully. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the temple. She also loved tennis, bird-watching, scuba diving, puzzles, the Fast and Furious franchise (except for Tokyo Drift, which Sayan loved) and Cafe Rio pork burritos.
Stephanie is survived by her adoring husband, Sayan and her brilliant daughter, Lia, and their cat, Kirby. She is also survived by her mother, Karen Layton, her parents-in-law Erlan & Tania Dobronsky, her brother David (Char) Layton, and her sisters, Liz (Chris) Johnson and Katie (Sam) Fellows, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who love her and miss her fiercely. She was predeceased by her father, Mark Layton, in 2017.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 2nd, from 6-8pm at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 S. Main St., Plymouth, 48170. Her Funeral Service will be Friday, May 3rd, at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7575 N. Hix, Westland, 48185. Family and friends may begin visiting at the church at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a GoFundMe for Sayan and Lia (gofund.me/5b54664b) or, Lia’s college fund (ugift529.com/F9P-216, gift code F9P-216) are appreciated.
