Shelly Lynn Sapp

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.

Shelly Lynn (Caldwell) Sapp, born March 24, 1966, of Farmington Hills, passed away in her home in Northville Township surrounded by family on May 11, 2026. Leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Shelly dedicated her life to the care of others, both in her career and her personal life. She graduated from Henry Ford Community College in 1992 with her degree in Nursing and went on to serve her community as a compassionate Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Her innate kindness extended far beyond her profession; she was the cornerstone of her family, always ready to help and incapable of saying no to anyone in need. Her home was a sanctuary where a warm meal and a safe place to stay were always freely offered. Driven by a deep desire to make a difference, she also passionately helped fundraise for the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network Foundation, hosting numerous events to raise critical funds for medical research.

In addition to her deeply caring nature, Shelly lived a life filled with creativity and a deep appreciation for birdwatching and genealogy. She spent much of her free time passionately researching her family's heritage. Discovering old documents, tracking down historic pictures, and connecting with distant cousins brought her immense fulfillment, and she spent countless hours helping others piece together their own family trees. She also had a profound passion for crafting, bringing beauty through her handmade creations and sharing her talents globally by hosting online crafting classes. An avid bird watcher, Shelly found immense peace and joy in the quiet patience of tracking and admiring local wildlife. Her selflessness, gentle spirit, and creative eye will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Shelly is survived by her beloved husband, Steven Sapp; her loving children, Julian (Yana) DiCesare, Amanda (Joshua) Polenciewicz, Alex Sapp, Joseph DiCesare, and Megan Sapp; and her cherished grandchildren, Charlotte, Andrew, Savannah, and William. She is also survived by her mother, Sharon McDonald; and her siblings, Jill (Gary) Mostek, Katie McDonald, and Margaret (Mike) Morelli; her best friend, Mary Konopka; Yanni Tsilimingras, who was loved as a son; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lester Caldwell.
