Salena Leeann Giddings

Salena Leeann Giddings, age 60, of Plymouth Michigan, passed away on February 26th, 2024 in her home surrounded by family. Salena is survived by her daughters Dawn Prudden (Roger Prudden), Melissa Giddings (Sam Williams), grandchildren Ryker and Rhiannon Prudden, father Ronald Burden, brother Randy Burden, loyal furry companion Bailey and numerous family and friends who will deeply miss her presence. 

Salena was a Mom and Nana above all else. She dedicated every day of her life to her family, her dreams were made of their happiness. Dawn, Melissa, Ryker and Rhiannon were her entire world. She spent each day looking forward to new adventures alongside them, with endless memories shopping, crafting, talking, riding bikes, eating ice cream, going to the park, school parties, field trips, and endless hours sitting on the sidelines.

Salena’s second love was of animals, she cherished her beloved Bailey and dedicated time to giving back to other furry friends through the Detroit dog rescue. She was passionate about supporting their mission which quickly led to in-home dog fostering. Salena cared for many animals, providing them a safe place for healing and saving the lives of Yeti, Zuzu and Rocky to name a few.

Salena’s mothering spirit and compassionate nature was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a youthful spirit, infectious laugh and the warmest embrace. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, unwavering support and fierce protection. 

As we mourn the loss of Salena, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she lived and the profound impact she had on all that knew her. She will be so deeply missed but never forgotten with her spirit and warmth living forever within her family and through cherished memories with loved ones. 

Salena’s life will be celebrated Saturday March 9th, from 2-6pm at the VFW Hall (1426 S Mill St, Plymouth, MI 48170). 

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Detroit Dog Rescue. You can make a monetary donation on their site or bring a physical donation to her celebration. Her family will be delivering all items to the rescue in her honor.
