Robert Dean Pearse

Robert (Bob) Pearse, born December 23,1942 in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away August 30, 2024 at the age of 81.

Bob graduated from Kansas State University with a Master’s Degree in Endocrinology and was a proud member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was a gifted singer who was active in the glee club and performed in musicals. Bob loved the outdoors, especially fishing and boating. He also enjoyed ‘tinkering’ around with his vast collection of tools.

As a child, many fond memories were made while Bob spent time at his grandparents’ cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks, where as a teenager, he met the love of his life, Donna.

Bob and Donna were married for fifty-nine years. They were avid travelers who especially loved visiting their home state of Kansas as well as the city of New Orleans to enjoy some good seafood and a good party.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and cousin. Bob leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. His children and grandchildren were everything to him. Bob loved to surprise others with random acts of kindness, some small and others quite significant. He was famous for his “stories” about his childhood in Kansas, his humor and charm as well as his natural way of thinking of others before himself.

Predeceased by his father, Jacob Van Dyke Pearse, mother, Marietta Pearse (Shaw), wife Donna Pearse (Sexton), brother Richard Pearse. Survived by his loving family: daughter, Anne (Mark) Wardynski, daughter Jill (Greg) Pegg, daughter Lynn Shannon, nephew Richard Pearse, grandchildren: Jeanette, Kyle, Bradley, Kellie, Connor, Colin, Drew and Jack, and eleven great grandchildren.

A celebration of both Bob and Donna’s lives will be held later this year. In honor of Bob’s memory, donations can be made to an organization near and dear to his heart, Autism Speaks
