Robert John Feldkamp

April 12, 1948 — December 3, 2022

Following a lengthy illness, Robert J. (Bob) Feldkamp died peacefully with his devoted wife Kathleen (Kitty) by his side.

Born to Dr. Lee Edgar Feldkamp MD and Jeanne Girard Feldkamp, Bob and his eight siblings grew up in Plymouth, Michigan.  He spent his entire life in the Plymouth area and enjoyed a long, illustrious career at Detroit Edison as supervisor of the Telecommunications-Energy department.  He was the recipient of many accolades and awards in his profession.

In his free time, Bob took great pleasure in home remodeling projects with his wife.  They shared a whimsical, artistic flair for decorating especially at Halloween and Christmas and their efforts were very much enjoyed by their neighbors in Canton.  He was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to all living things, be it plants or animals.   In his heyday, Bob dabbled in many hobbies including model trains, scuba diving, competitive roller skating, running marathons and also enjoyed the thrill of a parachute jump.

Bob was a very giving person and took great joy in helping others especially through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Michigan and volunteering many hours at the Humane Society of Huron Valley.  He will be remembered for his kind heart and sweet personality and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bob is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathleen (Kitty) Feldkamp.   In addition, he is survived by his son, Eric (Hannah) Feldkamp,  daughter Carrie (Richard) Bruning, stepchildren Bryan (Vicki) Angell, Kelly (Justin) Davis, and Kayln (Eric Venianakis) Angell, grandchildren William, Breanne, Chase, Chandler, Ava, Eli, Emily, Jason, Oscar and Eloise.   He is also survived by his siblings, Joan Thomas of Lake Worth Florida, Jeanette (John) Schwab of East Tawas Michigan, Douglas (Laurie) Feldkamp of Livonia Michigan, Gerald (Linda) Feldkamp of Beaverton Oregon, Gregory (Diane) Feldkamp of  Southlake Texas,  James (Barbara) Feldkamp of Grand Ledge Michigan,  brother-in-law Robert Arbour of Westland Michigan and sister-in-law Rose Feldkamp of Plymouth Michigan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lee Feldkamp, sister Mary  Arbour, brother-in-law John Thomas and his beloved bulldog Maggie.

The family would like to extend special thanks to his attentive caregivers and supporters - sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ginger and Ron Springer, brother Doug Feldkamp and wife Laurie, sister-in-law Rose Feldkamp, his home care team and case workers, his many doctors and nurses and the helpful staff at Wellbridge Novi Care Facility.  Also, grateful appreciation to the wonderful staff of Residential Home Health & Hospice of Michigan.

In accordance with his wishes, Bob was cremated and will be interred next to his parents and brother Lee at Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth, Michigan.

Remembrance donations may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48105 (hshv.org).
