Rita R. Perron

Rita Perron, age 100 of Plymouth, passed away on January 3, 2024. She was born in Detroit on March 8, 1923, to the late Paul and Frances (Media) Gersky.

Rita was the loving and devoted wife of the late Arthur Perron, whom she married on July 7, 1951.

She was the proud mother of Linda (Philip) Petz, the late David Perron and the late Suzanne Jiovani; adoring grandmother of Cherie Baker, Patrick (Rhonda) Milton, Jennifer (Vince) Mattison, Elizabeth (Anthony) Marabate, Veronica LaBar, Anthony (Lynne) Jiovani, Jonathon Jiovani and Joseph (Mary) Jiovani; great-grandmother of Corey (Rachel) Milton, Amanda Baker, Sean Milton, Vincent Mattison Jr., Camille LaBar, Davis Baker, Ian LaBar, the late Jacob Mattison, Abigail Mattison, Donovan Jiovani,  Angelina Jiovani,  Anthony Jiovani,  Annabella Jiovani,  Alexis Jiovani,  Allison Jiovani,  Ashleigh Jiovani,  Kaitlyn Jiovani,  Antonino Marabate and Gabriel Jiovani; and great-great grandmother of Emma Milton and Riley Milton.

Rita is survived by her cherished brother Claude Gersky, daughter-in-law Lynn Perron, son-in-law Carl Jiovani and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her beloved siblings, Rosalyn, Lucille, Kenneth, Gladys, Bernadine and Paul.

Rita lived through the Great Depression and was part of the Greatest Generation. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making quilts. As a woman who put family above all else, she welcomed countless family members into this world with crocheted sweaters, hats and booties, as well as hand-stitched quilts, receiving blankets and bibs. If something held still long enough, she made a doily to put under it! She left her family with warm memories, cherished family traditions and love to last generations. She will be deeply missed by all those whose life she touched.
