Peter J Schaldenbrand

Peter Schaldenbrand of Plymouth, MI, formerly of Farmington Hills and Salem Township in Michigan, passed away on Thursday, August 25th, from cancer. He is survived by Florence, his wife for 56 years, and his children, Peter Schaldenbrand (spouse Cheryl) of Rochester, MI, Donna Rossini (spouse Tom) of Canton MI, and Mary Elizabeth Schaldenbrand of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is also survived by his older brother, Wilford Schaldenbrand (spouse Elizabeth), of Cohoctah, MI. His eldest brother, Arthur Schaldenbrand, is deceased. He was an uncle to eleven nieces and nephews and grandfather “Papa” to four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rachel, Anna-Sophie, and Lauren. 

Peter earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Michigan State University in 1961, and a Masters in Education from Wayne State University in 1969.  He was a dedicated career math teacher at Farmington High School from 1969 to 1991, and afterwards, at Madonna University.  Also a passionate lifelong genealogical researcher, he was a member of the Farmington Genealogical Society and the Detroit Society of Genealogical Research, and authored his own history in a book,  "Schaldenbrand, Schaltenbrand Family". 

The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept 2nd, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church located at 47650 N. Territorial Rd, Plymouth MI. Visitation will take place from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., with Mass starting at 9:30 A.M.  After the Mass there will be a luncheon in the church’s Social Hall.
