With heavy hearts, we announce that Peter “Dave” DiSalvo III, 51, of Huron Township, went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Friday, May 16th, 2025. He was surrounded by his children at the time of his passing.
Peter was born on October 2, 1973, in Garden City, Michigan, to Peter David DiSalvo Jr. and Catherine Courtney. He attended John Glenn High School and graduated with the Class of 1991.
Peter was an avid fisherman, a God-fearing Christian, and a man known for his quick wit and immense sense of humor. He was a devoted member of ReNew Church, where he faithfully pursued a closer walk with God and found strength in his faith community.
To know Peter was to be loved deeply and without condition. He extended grace to all, regardless of their circumstances. He was forgiving, compassionate, and a beacon of peace, light, and hope to anyone in need of guidance. He was the true definition of a faithful servant called home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter David DiSalvo Jr.; his grandparents, Mary and Pietrino DiSalvo; and other cherished loved ones who went before him.
Peter is survived by his loving mother, Catherine Courtney; his children: Angel (Shawn), Kyle (Breana), Grace (Brendan), and Bailey; four beloved grandchildren; and his sisters: Jules, Rachel, Karen, and Reyna.
Of all the titles he held in life, “Dad” and “Papa” were the ones he treasured most. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he poured his heart into loving and guiding them. God blessed him with the gift of fatherhood, and he embraced it wholeheartedly. Being a dad and a Papa was his greatest joy, and he saw it as his most sacred calling. These are the roles that gave his life meaning.
In this time of grief, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to colon cancer charities in Peter’s honor.
His funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23rd, at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth, Michigan. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a farewell service at 3:00 p.m., led by his devoted friend and pastor, Mike Hochberg.
Flowers, condolences, and donations are deeply appreciated. Monetary gifts may be made to the GoFundMe page created in Peter’s memory. Flowers and written condolences can be sent directly to the funeral home, where he will be lovingly laid to rest.
