Patrick Edward Morin

Patrick Edward Morin, age 92 of Boyne City, Michigan passed away on March 5, 2026.

He was born on March 17, 1933cin Escanaba, Michigan to his parents, the late Blanch (nee Miron) and Edward Harold Morin.  Patrick was the oldest of  their thirteen children.  At the age of 6, his family moved to Detroit, Michigan and made their home on Twelfth Street.  He help to support his family and twelve siblings delivering coal and doing miscellaneous jobs.  Their father, Edward secured a position at Willow Run Airport during World War II.  The family eventually moved from Detroit to rural Belleville, Michigan where Patrick attended Belleville High School.  He was forced to quit high school at age 14 to help support his family.

At age 17, he joined the United State Air Force and was deployed to Europe during the Korean Conflict.  He quickly rose in the ranks to Sergeant and was extremely blessed to be a part of President Dwight D. Eisenhower's parade detail among other duties as assigned.  Patrick proudly served his country and was honorably discharged after four years of overseas service.  Upon his return home from the Air Force, he immediately secured a position with the Wayne County Road Commission as a Laborer.  He was eventually promoted to  the  position of a Mechanic and as he rose in the ranks, was again promoted to Foreman, then Supervisor and finally to Superintendent of all heavy equipment in Wayne County - the largest County in Michigan.  During his career with Wayne County, he worked at almost every County Road Commission facility.   His final post was at Detroit's Metropolitan Airport where he remained until his retirement.

Patrick is the beloved and devoted husband of Lura Allyne Morin who passed away on October 1, 2023; loving father to their son, Scott (Lynne) Morin and proud grandfather to Patrick Scott Morin.  Patrick and Lura dedicated their lives to the Lord, their family and  their community.    Until the day he passed away, all who knew Patrick remember him as one who ALWAYS put others before himself. His family tells us he was a "True American Hero."

Patrick will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan alongside his beloved wife, Lura.

Funeral Services are currently being finalized and will be announced at a later date.
