Norma Jean Menchaca

October 5, 1942 — August 8, 2020

Norma Jean (née Rogers) Menchaca, age 77 of Redford Township passed away suddenly on August 8, 2020.

Norma Jean was born on October 5, 1942 in Detroit to her parents, Herbert and Ethel (née Myers) Rogers. She is the beloved and devoted wife of 54 years to Mardo Menchaca; loving mother of two children – Michelle (James) Dawson and Jennifer (Timothy) Dubuc; proud grandmother of Jessica Dubuc, Katherine Dubuc, Samuel Donnelly, Maxwell Donnelly, Emily Dubuc, Ava Donnelly and Joshua Dubuc. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her sisters and brother, Beverly Ann Murrah, Diane Marie Hickman and Herbert Ralph (Lori) Rogers.

Norma Jean loved to garden. She enjoyed planting flowers and took pride in creating a beautiful yard for family and friends to enjoy. Fall was her favorite season and she looked forward to the changing colors every year. She especially enjoyed viewing them on the drive up to their cottage in Thompsonville, Michigan.

When grandchildren came into the family, Norma got a new name – Grandma. She cherished the love she shared with her seven grandchildren. They each had a very special relationship with her. She looked forward to every visit and according to the kids “gave the best hugs.”
