Michael Kirby Sharp, age 73 of Livonia passed away on September 24, 2022.  He was born on November 28, 1948 in Xenia, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Jo (Bowers) Sharp; his parents, Earl E. Sharp and Patricia A. (Hager) Sharp; his father-in-law, Robert D. Bowers and mother-in-law, Patricia A. (Baggett) Bowers; sisters-in-law, Cynthia L. (Bowers) Smith and Pamela (Junk) Bowers; his brothers-in-law, James (Smitty) Smith and Curtis Smith; brother, Lawrence Sharp, and nephew, Ryan D. Bowers.

Michael was employed as a Maintenance Mechanic for the State of Michigan for over 17 years.  He retired alongside his wife in 2007.  Prior to working for the State of Michigan, he spent time working in the Tool & Die, Restaurant, and Trucking industries.

He cane to the metro-Detroit community in the late 1970’s fom the Dayton, OH area where he was born and raised.  He married his wife, Deborah Jo (Bowers) Sharp on November 19th, 1977.  They were a match made in heaven – one couldn’t be found without the other.  They had two children - a son, Dustyn T. Hall and a daughter, Megan L. (Sharp) Keckan whom they raised lovingly together.  Michael was a devoted and loving husband until his wife’s untimely death from cancer in 2011.

Michael led a full and interesting life:

  • Michael earned a teaching certificate from Wright State University.
  • Michael completed an HVAC certification from Wayne County Community College.
  • Michael enjoyed being out cruising the open roads on his Harley with his motorcycle group.
  • He was a history buff and enjoyed American History and WWII history, the most.
  • He was an avid reader and enjoyed historical fiction, non-fiction, and sci-fi novels.
  • Michael grew up near the Wright Patterson Airforce Base in Ohio and could identify any aircraft just by the sound of its engine.
  • Michael enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found fixing things around the house or working outside on a project in his yard.
  • He was a devoted family man and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family, especially his son, daughter, and his two grandsons.

Private services are being planned to celebrate Michael’s life.
