Mary Ann O'Keefe Morley

June 28, 1909 — May 31, 2011

Passed away at Medilodge of Plymouth on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the age of 101. Ann, as she was known, was born in Jersey Side-Placentia, Newfoundland on June 28, 1909. She is the daughter of Bernard and Mary Joseph ( Dunphy ) O'Keefe. Until 1946 she resided in Newfoundland where she had taught in a one-room schoolhouse and had also worked for the United States military at their base in Argentia, Newfoundland during World War II. In 1946, along with her mother, they ventured to Michigan where her three brothers and their families resided. She was employed at Garwood Industries in Wayne. It was in Michigan where she met her husband Frank whom she married in 1958. They had no children. Frank preceded her in death in 1982. Ann is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Genevieve) O'Keefe, William " Bill " (Louisa) O'Keefe, Alexander " Sandy " (Charlene) Keefe and a younger brother Bernard O'Keefe, who passed away as a child in Newfoundland.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 Haggerty Road ( South of Five Mile ) Plymouth, Michigan on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:30am with Father Thomas Belczak officiating. A brief family visitation will be held at 10:00 am before the Funeral Mass. Ann will be buried beside her husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield on Friday, June 10, 2011. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capuchin Ministry, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207 in memory of May Ann (O'Keefe) Morley.
