Marjorie Lou Lindback

Marjorie "Marge" L. Lindback, age 89 of Howell, MI passed away on December 12, 2023.

She was born in Detroit, MI on August 23, 1934 to Berneice (West) and Harold Thomas of Plymouth, MI.

She was the beloved and devoted wife to the late Bert Lindback for "54 wonderful years" and the loving mother of Nancy Taylor of Pinckney and Karen (Kevin) Buist of VA; proud Grandmother of Erik (Susanna) Taylor of CA, Matthew (Rima) Taylor of Okinawa Japan, Jill (Andy) Sawman of Pinckney, Chad (Anneleise) Buist of W. VA and Stephanie Buist of VA and the proud Great Grandmother of 7 Great Grandchildren.

Marjorie was also deeply loved and will be missed by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harry and Mary Jo Lindback, her sister-in-law Denise "Denne" Thomas and her dear cousin Charlotte Tate as well as her nieces Catherine Lindback, Kim Thomas, and nephews Randy Davila and Keith Thomas and her many cousins.

She grew up in Plymouth, MI where her love for music and singing began when she won a singing contest on the radio for the song “Summertime” which to this day resonates in our hearts. Marjorie was always asked by family and friends to sing at their weddings.

In ’73 the family moved to Big Rapids, MI where she worked in a dental office and continued her love of singing in the church choir and with various other music groups. She loved to golf at every chance she could get and loved spending the summers at the Muskegon River Boat Club cruising the river (always referring to the river as “God’s Country”) while entertaining family and friends.

After she retired, they moved to Florida for the winter months where she continued to sing her heart out with the Spring Hill Nature Coast Choir and golfed often.

Summers were spent at their “cottage” at Lake Chemung Outdoor Campground and Resort in Howell where she worked in the office and spent many happy times keeping active with her LCORI friends and neighbors, as well as many fun and memorable family and friends gatherings. Marge always had a smile on her face and was loved by all.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Bert, sister Lois Davila Evans, Brother Calvin “Cal” Thomas and her music loving partner/ son-in-law Gary Taylor.

A special thanks to her wonderful caregivers over the past 5 years at Ahsley Court Memory Care in Brighton, Medilodge of Howell and to all the wonderful hospice workers who were involved in Marge’s care.
