Margaret B. Hanna, beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on August 18, 1940, Margaret shared a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering support for her family and those she held dear.
Margaret’s warmth and gentle spirit touched everyone she met. She lived her life with grace and strength, embracing each day with hope and compassion. Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Hanna, with whom she built a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they created a home grounded in love, respect, and a deep commitment to one another.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Mary Hanna and Donald Hanna, Jr., who were both a constant source of pride and joy in her life. As a mother, Margaret offered encouragement, understanding, and unconditional love, providing a nurturing foundation upon which her family flourished.
Margaret is also survived by her sister, Allison Sortman, with whom she shared a close and enduring bond. Their relationship was marked by shared milestones, laughter, and steadfast support throughout life’s many seasons.
Margaret’s legacy is one of dedication to her family, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her enduring kindness and gentle resilience are gifts she has left behind, treasured by those whose lives she enriched.
Visitation for Margaret will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Celebration Lutheran Church ELCA, located at 39375 Joy Rd, Westland, MI 48185. A Mass in her honor will follow at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Margaret are invited to join as we remember and celebrate her remarkable life.
