It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, husband, son, brother, and grandfather at the age of 63. He departed this world unexpectedly, leaving an irreplaceable void in our lives and in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on June 25, 1960 in Beirut, Lebanon, Majd George Sambar lived a life characterized by love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family. He was a pillar of strength, a source of inspiration, and generous to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He touched the lives of many with his warm smile and boisterous laugh.
Majd was the son of Mary Sambar and the late George Sambar. The devoted husband of Nadwa Sambar; loving father of three daughters – Nadine (Rabih) Mallah, Rania (Rony) Hana, and Camille Sambar (Ayara Pontioso). The proud grandfather of Mustapha and Adam Mallah, and Naïa Hana, who is soon to be born. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brothers, Hani (Rima) Sambar, Habib (Maha) Sambar, and Arthur (Katherine) Sambar.
Majd was a collector and a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed making memories with his loved ones who were often on the receiving end of his quick-witted jokes. Everything that he did was shrouded in his love for his family. Majd’s perfect day was sitting in the sun on the beach relaxing with his wife, Nadwa. As a licensed scuba diver he loved the water where there were endless possibilities of what could be above and below its horizon.
Together with his family, they journeyed to countless places, making memories that will last a lifetime. In these destinations, they had many novel experiences and savored the flavors of new cuisines. He was always daydreaming about their next adventure.
Majd was a wonderful cook. His family would often ask for one of his many specialties; foul, manaeesh or just about anything on the grill. His grandchildren loved his animated and elaborate imagination. The trinkets and nicknacks he collected painted a picture of his life. Majd was always making his own rules, marching to the beat of his own drum, and defying convention.
If you asked Majd about his greatest accomplishment in life, it wasn’t his successful career as an engineer, it was being a dedicated family man. His wife and kids say that he loved life’s simple pleasures, sharing vibrant stories, and passing down rich family traditions. Above all, he enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, soulmate, and best friend, Nadwa.
