Linda Joy Lieder

Linda Joy Lieder passed away on July 21, 2025, after a short illness.

Linda was born in Detroit on December 13, 1957, to her parents, Candida and Donald Lieder and grew up in Livonia, MI. She is deeply loved and will be missed by her siblings, DonnaJean Lieder and Richard Lieder (Kathe, son Aaron), and niece, Janie Juarez (Daniel) and great niece Maddie and many supportive, loving friends.

Linda is pre-deceased by her parents and her brother Robert Lieder.

She grew up in Livonia, MI and graduated from Churchill High School in 1976. She graduated from the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in 1984 with a degree in Marine Engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in business from Ferris State University in 1985.

Linda’s paid and volunteer work reflected her strong desire to help others and her caring ways. She was employed by Comau Pico in Southfield for many years. Linda worked as a Massage Therapist for Shaft Chiropractic for over 15 years and served as a Wedding Officiant. She also served for many years as an Election Worker for the City of Livonia.

Linda had several interests and passions. Linda was a past grand officer for Michigan Rainbow, Plymouth #33, and a 49-year member of OES, Nankin #238. Linda was actively involved in the Citizens for Peace in Livonia, Michigan, serving as Secretary and later Treasurer. The mission of Citizens for Peace is to be responsive community leaders centered on learning, educating and facilitating the practices and principles of non-violence in the world.

Linda loved her childhood summers spent at Burroughs Farms in Brighton. She often returned to Traverse City for college reunions and visiting friends. She enjoyed many trips to her father’s home state of Minnesota. She and her sister, DonnaJean, were thrilled to travel with their mother to her birthplace of Spain, reuniting with relatives.

Linda loved nature and enjoyed being at the beach and by water. She would often gather with friends at a nearby beach or take a walk outside enjoying nature. She had a special place in her heart for animals and treasured the various family cats over her lifetime.

Linda highly valued friendships and regularly kept in contact with friends from all times and areas of her life. She will be dearly missed by all her many friends. Everyone should be so blessed to have such a caring friend in their life named ‘Linda’.
