Springtime Garden - When We Think of You. Mom

The garden calls in springtime when earthy smells are new

When winter thaws are over leaving morning dew.

As robins hop all over collecting nesting things

Our silent thoughts are of you and all that loving brings.

A brisk walk in the summer when warm rays touch your face

Moving proudly forward picking up the pace

The cardinal’s friendly answer so clear and loud and true

The finches at the feeder make us think of you.

Cozy spots indoors and out inviting comfort fine

After a productive day appreciating time.

Music for all occasions songs of joy and jest

They will make us think of you the old ones and the best

Soaking in the kitchen sink drying dish and spoon

Pouring over magazines searching for latest swoon

Loving family, maker, mate selfless you have been

We would be remiss to say we copy you again

You say we don’t remember  the things you do or say

But all the things you speak of you model them this way

The garden calls in autumn flowers at their best

Changing are the seasons happily, at rest.

What will we do when we don’t have you?
