Laxmanrao Mahendrakar

Prof. Laxmanrao Mahendrakar, age 74 years, passed away peacefully on July 31st, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on April 1st, 1952, to Nagendrappa Mahendrakar and Laxmibai Mahendrakar, Laxmanrao was known for his hard work, dedication to family and zest for life.

After graduating from Dharwad University, Laxmanrao pursued a career in teaching and administration, experienced as an Academician where he spent his professional career as Member of selection committee as “Subject Expert” for selection of Lecturers to degree college through Karnataka University Sociology Teachers Association, worked as Secretary of Kuvempu University Sociology Teachers Association. He was deeply passionate about his work, taking pride in his accomplishments, both small and big. He was an avid lover of nature and enjoyed long walks, spending time with children and grandchildren and traveling the world.

Laxmanrao recently celebrated his 73rd birthday with his wonderful wife Meenakshi Mahendrakar, sons Girish Mahendrakar and Harish Mahendrakar, daughters-in-law Pramodini Mahendrakar and Sanjotha Mahendrakar and grandchildren Darsh, Avyukt, Anvit and Stuti Mahendrakar on July 31st, 2026, with close family and friends. He was a loving husband, best father to his children, and proud grandfather to 4 grandchildren.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a cremation ceremony.
