Kimberly Fawn Schendel

Kimberly Fawn Schendel of Garden City passed away March 16, 2026. Kim was born April 30th 1962 in Wyandotte, Mi to her late parents- Patricia McMurtry and Richard Chesstnutt Sr. She is the beloved and devoted mother of Christopher, Lauren (Eric), and Danielle who will forever carry her memory. She is also survived by her brothers Richard Chesstnutt Jr, Bill McMurtry Jr, two grandchildren Lucas and Jameson, and her grand dogs Emmy- Lou, Oakley, and Ruger.

Kim dedicated her career to serving the City of Livonia as a Master of Clerical Services. She was known for her dedication at the senior center where her genuine care and work ethic shined. She took pride in what she did and cared deeply for family, coworkers, and anyone that may have needed a helping hand. She made sure things were done right and was selflessly devoted to the care and comfort of others-though traffic was never something she claimed to have much patience for.

Kim was unapologetically herself. She spoke her mind without hesitation, stood firm in who she was, and never held back. That authenticity defined her life and left a lasting impression on anyone who knew her. She will forever be remembered by her contagious laugh, go getter attitude, and endless love for friends and family.
