Kerry G. McCue, age 71, passed away on November 29, 2025.
Born on March 1, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Kerry was the son of Graham McCue and the late Dorothy (née Mackinder) . He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply: his devoted wife of 47 years, Sue (née Richards) McCue; his children, Ron McCue, Laura McCue, and Jonathon (Courtney) McCue; his grandchildren, Gianna McCue, Makayla McCue, Dominic McCue, Landon Smith, Rylan McCue, and Reese McCue; and his great-granddaughter, Paisley Grant. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Logan McCue.
Kerry is also lovingly remembered by his four sisters—Diane (Greg) Gallahaire, Jill (Evan) Visser, Janet (Marc) Nurmi, and Connie (Arthur) Larson; his siblings-in-law, Ron (Kathy) Richards and Rob (Amy) Richards; and his parents-in-law, Ron and Betsy Richards. He was cherished by all who knew him.
For 30 years, Kerry was a dedicated employee of Ford Motor Company. During his children’s younger years, he was deeply involved in their athletic pursuits. He volunteered for many seasons with the Plymouth Steelers football program, served as an equipment manager for the Canton Chiefs Football team, and took exceptional pride in maintaining the beauty of the fields for the Canton Chiefs Baseball team.
Later in life, Kerry worked as a bus driver for special needs students with the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools. His quick wit, patience, and gentle heart made him a natural in this position. He adored the students he transported, and they adored him in return. Even after his retirement in 2023, he often stopped in for surprise visits, eager to share a laugh with his friends and former coworkers.
Of all his joys, time with his grandchildren meant the most. He loved cheering on their sports, taking them camping, cooking for them, and teasing them in the playful way only he could. Kerry’s life was further enriched by the companionship of his many dogs, including his beloved grand-dog, Winnie.
Kerry had an exceptional sense of humor and a gift for making others laugh under any circumstance. He was always the first to offer a helping hand and never hesitated to go above and beyond for anyone in need.
A true sports enthusiast, Kerry enjoyed watching nearly anything athletic—but he could watch professional wrestling around the clock. He was also an avid bowler and took great joy in the sport, proudly achieving a perfect 300 game. Kerry was a devoted University of Michigan fan and cheered enthusiastically for the Wolverines. He found happiness in camping with friends, traveling, and exploring the state of Michigan. Many cherished memories were made during visits to family in Florida, enjoying watching fishermen and gulf wildlife from the North Jetty at Casey Key.
Kerry leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. His passing creates a hole in the hearts of his family that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to guide and comfort them always.
