Joyce Ann Hamilton

May 29, 1936 — December 1, 2020

Joyce Ann Hamilton, age 84 of Livonia passed away on December 1, 2020.

Joyce was born in Plymouth, Michigan on May 29, 1936 to her parents, Norman and Leonora (née Themm) Mahrley. She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Donald Hamilton. They were married in 1958. Donald passed away November 29, 2014. Joyce is the loving mother of Susan (Don) McVittie, Denise (Dan) Parks, Mark Hamilton and David (Teri) Hamilton; proud grandmother of Amber (Tim) Bellis, Mahrley (Jesse) Teachworth, Beth Ann Hamilton (Peter) Lindeman, David (Sarah) Parks, Andrew (Haley) Hamilton, Tyler McVittie, Austin Stevens and Joseph Parks; great-grandmother of Emma Bellis. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings, Norman (Nancy) Mahrley and Janet Schooley, her cousin, Pam (Bob) Geist and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was often referred to as the Energizer Bunny. Always busy, summer meant time on the golf course and of course in her garden. What a green thumb she acquired working in the Greenhouse for many years. She spent time cheering on her beloved Tigers. Winter meant puzzles which she had quite a knack for. She also spent many evenings watching her Red Wings and knitting. She has knitted all of her grandchildren and their spouses (13!) a personalized afghan. Rumor has she has been working on baby blankets. There was always a project. The things she has planted, built and painted at all of our homes. Joyce loved to sing and sang in a choir her entire adult life, including the Church Choir, The Plymouth Community Chorus and the Livonia Civic Chorus. She was good at reaching out to others making phone calls to children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
