Joseph John Nerowski, age 81 of Plymouth passed away on April 6, 2023. Joseph was born in Wyandotte, Michigan to his parents, the late Genevieve Theresa (née Smydo) and Joseph John Nerowski, Sr.
He is the beloved and devoted husband of Kathleen Joan (née Klemba) Nerowski; loving father of two daughters – Christine (Greg) Hinzmann and Karen (Zack) Wright; proud grandfather of Savannah (Spencer LaBuda) Wright and Ella Wright. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his sister Mary Graff and sister-in-law Patricia Mesky.
After graduating from High School, Joseph earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He lived in Plymouth for the past 56 years and had a successful career as an Electrical Engineer, leading a team that installed and supported credit union mainframe computer systems. He retired approximately 19 years ago.
His hobby was being a ham radio operator. His call sign was AA80A. He was awarded an Army Commendation Medal for his meritorious service during operations in the Dominican Republic. He enjoyed being able to talk across town or around the world without the internet or a cell phone. While enjoying his ham radio hobby and while proudly serving his country in the United States Army, he was sent on a military assignment in Santo Domingo, the Capital of the Dominican Republic. After his retirement, Joseph enjoyed going fishing and loved going on vacations.
Family and friends may gather at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
