1980 Joseph "Joe" 2018

Joseph "Joe" Walter Laurin

August 5, 1980 — September 30, 2018

Joseph “Joe” Walter Laurin, age 38, of Ann Arbor, Michigan died unexpectedly on September 30, 2018 as a result of injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Joe was born August 5, 1980 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Elizabeth Orbits and Russell Laurin. He graduated from Dexter High School, attended Washtenaw Community College, and was employed at Michigan Medicine in the Environmental Services Department.

An outdoor enthusiast, Joe loved biking, hiking, and mountain climbing. Joe will be remembered for his love of life and the excitement of whatever adventure presented itself. He was outgoing, funny, would tell outrageous jokes, had an infectious smile, and a laugh that filled the room. Joe’s hugs could literally take your breath away.

Joe enjoyed being with people, family and friends, and based on the numerous comments posted on social media, he had a positive impact on the lives of his family, friends, and co-workers. Joe cared deeply about animals, volunteering at the “Bunny Ranch” and caring for many animals over his lifetime. This was never more evident than the love he displayed for his first dog, Chance, a stray he rescued and literally gave a “second chance” at life, as well as his second dog, Bella.

Joe is survived by his parents, Elizabeth Orbits and Russell Laurin, his brother, Mathew (Sarah) Laurin, and daughter, Emilie Gregg. He is also survived by nephews William, Wesley and Wyatt, and nieces Kaela and Alaina. Joe will be dearly missed by his immediate family, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends with whom he provided support through the ups and downs of life, and some 'wild and crazy' adventures too numerous to count.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Joe’s life is being planned for a later date. Memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Huron Valley, in Joe’s name would be appreciated.
