Jon is the loving and devoted father of two children – Mackenzie Lincoln and Wesley (fiancée Makayla Fore) Lincoln as well as having a signifant father-like role to his kids half- siblings; Glenda Miller, Joel Durtka and Russell Durtka; cherished son of Joanne (Matweychek) and the late William Lincoln Sr. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his siblings Bill (Dema) Lincoln, Ken Lincoln, and Kim (Josiah) Clemence. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews – Gavin (Allison) Lincoln, Madison Lincoln, Riley Lincoln, Garrett Lincoln, Emma Lincoln, Cohen Lincoln and Samuel Clemence.
Jon will be dearly missed by his two children, Kenzie and Wes, and so many others whose lives he touched.
His mother, along with his two brothers and sister and their families, will miss him deeply. As the youngest sibling—the baby of the family—Jon never quite lost that role. No matter how big he got, how successful he became, or how much he accomplished, he was still the little brother. To his mom, he was always her baby. His siblings will especially miss the back-and-forth banter that only brothers and sisters who grew up together can share. That dynamic—and the love behind it—was always there.
Jon touched many lives in the industries and circles he was involved with. He was dedicated to his career in aviation, always working to build up his team and instill his strong work ethic in his kids from a young age.
In 2016, he started Lincoln’s Leathers, creating a variety of handmade leather goods. His son, Wesley, helped out in the early years, and later his daughter, Mackenzie, joined him full-time. What started as a mind-clearing hobby became a meaningful bonding experience—especially with his daughter. He will be missed in the Art Show and Pen Show communities.
Jon had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed smoking cigars, especially with friends from work. He loved his motorcycle, and riding became another way for him to clear his mind. He was also a collector at heart—sharing a love of knives and flashlights with his son. His kids will both always remember Dad taking them to the gun range starting at 12 years old, shooting BB guns in the backyard before that, collecting artisan pens and writing tools, and many years spent at the Michigan Renaissance Festival eating turkey legs and building costumes.
Jon was not only a great father, but also a mentor to many—at work, and among friends and family. He loved giving thoughtful gifts and taking people out for fun experiences. His older nieces and nephews will miss trips to the Ren Fest, working on leather projects, and laughing together at family gatherings with their Uncle Jon. His youngest nephew, Sam, will miss trips to the airport to watch planes, Tropical Smoothie runs, visits to the pet store, and outings to the circus and carnival with his “Uncle Gon.” He will also be missed at weekly Thursday game nights at his best friend Michelle’s house, alongside their longtime friend Julie and her daughter. Though divorced, he and Michelle were each other’s biggest supporters in his last years. That type of love and care will never be forgotten by Chele or the kids.
Jon will mostly be remembered for being generous, strong, hard-working, caring, supportive, smart, creative, and deeply loving—and deeply loved.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
