Joan Waytulonis

Joan Waytulonis, age 86 passed away on April 21, 2026 at Waltonwood Carriage Park Assisted Living in Canton, Michigan.  Joan was born on August 2 1939 in Stambaugh, Michigan to Bill and Sally (nee Rysberg) Waytulonis.

She earned her Masters of Arts Degree in Education at Eastern Michigan University and taught Kindergarten for 39 years at Eugene B. Elliot Wayne County school.  Since she was a young girl, Joan spent her summers at the Buck Lake Cottage.  Joan was a prolific reader of mystery and true crime novels and loved classic TV shows.  She enjoyed antiquing and making the rounds at thrift shops searching for treasures. 

Joan is survived by her brother, Robert (Lisa) Waytulonis; niece and nephews Siri (Ross) O'Connor, Andrew (Angie) Waytulonis and Scott (Samantha) Bolles in addition to several great-nieces, nephews and friends in the Ann Arbor area and the Upper Peninsula. 

Joan was preceded in death by her parents and twin sister, Jean (Don) Bolles.

Per Joan's wishes, no services will be held.
