Joan Mitchell Heinicke

Joan Mitchell Heinicke, age 84 of Birmingham, Michigan, passed away on February 2, 2026.

She was born on November 24, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, to her parents, the late Nancy (née Daniel) and John Heinicke.

Joan is the loving and devoted mother of two children – Xanthe (Adam) Muller and Amanda (Valentina) Wigfall and proud grandmother of Wylie Muller and Verity Muller.

Joan was an artist and taught art in different public schools around Michigan as well as Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoyed talking with her friends and was involved in local politics. She could be found at the ice rink and exploring vintage stores for special dishware and other treasures. She will be greatly missed.
