Joan Butz

Joan Butz, age 94 of Livonia passed away on September 9, 2026.

She was born on May 29, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents the late Mabel Agnes (nee Moore) and Clarence Rupp.

Joan is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Harry Blessing and Richard Butz and loving mother who enjoyed being around people and making memories with those she loved. She loved people wherever she went. One of her favorite places was Belleair Beach in Florida, where she cherished her time in the sun and by the water.

Joan’s family was her greatest joy in life. Her love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her four children - Craig (Debbie) Blessing, Cathy (Ed) Literski, Jeffrey (Cheri) Blessing and Laurie (John) Schmitt; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She will be remembered for her love of people and the warmth she shared with those around her.

Family and friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 P.M.
