Jeane Janiga Solsbury

August 6, 1925 — July 14, 2020

Jeane Janiga Solsbury, age 94, a long-time resident of Plymouth, passed away on July 14, 2020 at Resthaven Care Center in Holland, MI, of natural causes.
Jeane was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Frank and Anna Janiga and is survived by her children, James (Therese) Solsbury, Kathleen Solsbury, Kristine (Edwyn) Curtis and Robert Solsbury; grandchildren Emilie (Randy) Duncan, Jennifer (Jeff) Andrist, Melissa (Robert) Gallagher and Andrew (Christine) Solsbury; great grandchildren Emma, Ellie and Abby and her brother Ernest Janiga.

Jeane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, John Louis Solsbury, her parents and brothers Leonard Janiga and Norbert Janiga.
In addition to raising a family, Jeane was an executive secretary in the automotive and aerospace industry. She enjoyed her work and loved being a part of the Detroit automotive legacy.

Jeane loved to travel, was an avid reader and could work the NY Times crossword puzzle (in ink) until shortly before her death. Above all, she enjoyed time and travels with her family. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.
A special thanks to her Resthaven caregivers, Comfort Keepers-Plymouth, Jan & Val and Beacon Hill neighbors whose kindness and understanding helped Jeane continue to lead an independent, full and active life.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the charity of your choice. She supported American Heart Association, Mother Wattles, The Salvation Army, March of Dimes, VFW and The Detroit Old Newsboys Goodfellow Fund.

A private family graveside service and burial will be held at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery in
Southfield, MI.
