James R. Loughran

LOUGHRAN, JAMES REED June 25, 2010, age 87 of Northville. Beloved husband of Kay (Hanner). Loving father of Patrick Loughran and wife Caroline Simonds, Kathie Thodeson and husband Paul, Joyce Silverstone and husband Michael. Stepfather of Konnie Shaw, Lydia Waskul, and David Gilley. Grandfather of Reed and Drew Thodeson, Louis Silverstone, Lailah Simonds, great-grandfather of Eloise. Step-grandfather and step-great-grandfather of 9. After service as Naval officer in the Pacific during World War II interrupted his studies at Penn State University, Jim returned to complete his degree in Engineering and begin a family with his wife of 47 years, Ada Jeanne (Myers) who died in 1994. After nearly two decades as a sales representative for Bethlehem Steel, he built entrepreneurial businesses in Cleveland, Ohio and Livonia, Michigan. His Livonia business JMCO still survives under the ownership and management of his trusted and long-time business associates. Jim married Kay in 1996. They traveled the world, played golf, and shared homes in Lauderdale by the Sea and Northville. He was an avid reader, took delight in his family, and was a talented amateur furniture maker. He will be remembered for the generosity and respect he demonstrated toward his co-workers and employees as well as the love he had for family. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, 701 Church Street, Plymouth, Michigan.
