Gregg Knight, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a dedicated manager at Ford Motor Company, passed away at the age of 79 on July 4, 2024, in Novi, Michigan. He was born on June 28, 1945, in Wyandotte, Michigan to his parents the late Robert Earl and Isabel (Cane) Knight. Gregg was a high school graduate who pursued a successful career at Ford Motor Company.
Known for his patriotic personality, Gregg was a lifetime member of the Detroit Shriners. He took great pride in being an American and enjoyed marching in parades, bringing joy, smiles, and laughter to many, especially children.
Gregg will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Paula. He is survived by his sons, Gregg (Coby) Knight Jr. and David C. Wickens (Martha); daughter Kim (Russ) Bielawski; as well as grandchildren Scott, Brock, Lance Wickens; Nicholas Engels, Savannah (Ross) Tschirn, and Olivia Engels; Angelina, Sophia, and Jackson Knight; and great-granddaughter Ava Engels.
In addition to his parents, Gregg is preceded in death by his sons Timothy Knight and Scott Wickens.
In honor of Gregg’s life, a visitation will be held at the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Shriners Service will be held at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Dave Hughes, will take place on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at United Memorial Gardens in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those wishing to remember Gregg may make a donation in his memory to the Detroit Shriners General Fund, 37987 Interchange Drive, Farmington Hills, Michigan 48335-1006. Donation envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
Gregg Knight will forever be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, his work ethic and his vibrant presence within the community. May he rest in peace knowing he made a lasting impact on all those around him.
