Geraldine “Geri” Vollmer of Plymouth passed away on October 11, 2023. She was born on September 4, 1926, in Bay City, Michigan, to her parents the late Theresa (nee Hunt) and Daniel Tanney. Geri is the beloved and devoted wife of 52 years of the late Robert Vollmer, loving mother of two children, Celeste (Fred) Hoitash and Carla (Todd Bills) Vollmer, and proud grandmother of Misty (Hoitash) McDuffie.
Geri enjoyed participating in many social activities including choir, tap dancing, and most especially line dancing to live music which was an exciting and fun experience shared with her friends and family. In order to become better connected within her community, Geri participated in many different volunteer activities over the years, as she was always willing to help out in any way possible to make a difference in the lives of others.
Most importantly, Geri’s faith in God was her guiding star, fueling her volunteer work and helping her to remain steadfast even during the most difficult times. She set an example for her family and all who knew and loved her, encouraging them to also remain strong and committed to their faith. Geri will be deeply missed by her many friends, nieces, and nephews of Michigan, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Texas, and her extended family members in Florida, all of whom she so lovingly touched throughout her life.
