George Edward Elliott

George Edward Elliott was born in Detroit on November 6, 1944. He died on February 14, 2023, in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. He graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1962 and then served with the Detroit Police Department. In a heroic effort on February 24, 1967, he administered CPR to save the life of an infant who had stopped breathing. His favorite time of service was when he was assigned to the station on Belle Isle; feeding the squirrels was a fond memory of his time there. Over the years, George enjoyed deer & pheasant hunting, camping, and reading mystery novels. After retiring from a long career with the Detroit Police Department, he and his wife, Sandy, moved to Port Austin, Michigan.

George is survived by children Catherine (S. Jeffrey) Dials, Joseph (Ellen), Melissa (Zeus Brukley) Elliott, Margaret (David) Whitaker, Mary (Richard) Pegler, Brendan (Ann), Samantha (Shane) Talbot, and Rebecca Airasolo; grandchildren Milinda (Drax) Twynham, Janice, Joshua Logan, Shane (Susan), Jackson, Melanie, Ulysses, Sean, Connor, Aidan, and Mitchell; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings Sr. Mary Timothea, R.S.M, Richard (Pat), James (Judy), John (Denise), Timothy (Pauline), Brian (Janet), and William. He is predeceased by his parents Ernest and May (née Mitchell); brothers Robert, Michael, and Thomas; and son, Justin.
