Gary James Mucker

November 10, 1945 — January 25, 2022

He is the beloved and devoted husband of Barbara E. (née Kintner) Mucker; loving father of his two sons, James (Kimberly) Mucker and Jeffrey Mucker. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his brother, Larry (June) Mucker and sister, Cheryl (Douglas) Mayher.

Gary was born on Harold Street in Plymouth. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1964. He met and married the love of his life, Barbara Kintner. They moved to Westland and together they raised their two sons. Gary had a successful 24 year career as a meat cutter at the Kroger warehouse in Livonia. After leaving the meat cutting business, he began working for Auto Alliance which eventually became Ford Motor company an automobile assembly firm co-owned by Ford Motor Company and Mazda at the Flatrock Plant

After his retirement, he had more time to do the things that gave him so much enjoyment. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, the fresh air and just the simple connection to nature while sitting in his tree stand.

Like many young people who grew up in one of the Motor City’s suburbs, Gary developed his interest of fast cars – especially hotrods – vehicles that are stripped down, souped up and made to go much faster. Whether it was car racing or going to a show, Gary loved it all.

He had a special place in his heart for all animals, but he especially loved his Granddogs that will surely miss him too.

Gary was a great example of a husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He loved life and he loved his family and that love was returned. His family will miss him dearly and will cherish their memories of him forever.

A Celebration of Life for Gary will be held at a later date.
