Frederick John Pytell

Frederick John Pytell of Canton passed away November 11, 2022 with family by his side. Born on October 12, 1946 in Detroit to the late John & Therese Pytell. Loving father of Jessica Carter and grandfather of Kassandra Carter and Chloe Carter. Also survived by his longtime companion Darlene Bennett, and former wife, Geraldine Pytell, the mother of Jessica Carter.  He is pre-deceased by his brother, Edwin Pytell.

Fred served the community for 38 years - first with the Detroit Police Department and later, became one of the first police officers of the Canton Township Police Department from where he retired in 2006.

After retirement, Fred enjoyed winters in Fort Myers, Florida with many friends while remaining a resident of the Canton community and where he was known and loved by many for his fun and kind nature.

Fred enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, Lions and the boat races. He was a car enthusiast, and in his younger days, he worked on and raced cars and later became a collector of model cars, trains, and planes.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service is to be held at a later date.
