Frederick X. Hallway Sr., passed away peacefully March 31, 2023 in Livonia, Michigan and lived a good, long 98 years; sharp of mind right to the end. He was born January 13, 1925 in Madison, Wisconsin and is the only child of the late Xystus and Mable Hallway. Like most men of the “Greatest Generation”, Fred was drafted into the United States Army one week after graduating high school. After serving his country proudly in the Signal Corp during World War II, he attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison thanks to the GI Bill. Fred worked as a sales representative in the menswear division for Pendleton Woolen Mills for 40 years. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, particularly football, Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers being his favorite.
Frederick is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Celestine “Bunny” Hallway who passed away on June 2, 1993. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his 4 loving children, Mary K. Hallway, Fredrick X. (Karen) Hallway Jr., Ann (Larry) Moliassa, and Dave (Nicole) Hallway and 6 grandchildren, Kiersten (Evan) Cusick, Alex Hallway, Olivia Moliassa, Matthew Moliassa, Malia Hallway, and Avari Hallway.
Friends are invited to visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Monday, April 3 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Kenneth Catholic Church, 14951 N Haggerty Rd., Plymouth, Michigan on Tuesday, April 4th at 11:30 a.m. Visitation at the church will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Mr. Hallway and his beloved wife, Bunny, will be laid to rest at Great Lakes Cemetery on Wednesday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m.
