Florence Myles Alaniva

Florence Myles Alaniva, age 91 of Livonia passed away on April 6, 2023.

Florence was born in Ecorse, Michigan on February 2, 1932 to her parents, the late Isabel (née McNaught) and John Hervey.

She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Dr. Loyal V. Alaniva who just passed away on March 11, 2023; loving mother of three children, John (Cindy) Alaniva, Howard (Yvonne) Alaniva and Linda (Brian) Johnson and very proud grandmother of Garrett (Molly) Johnson, Nicholas Alaniva, Robert Alaniva, Bridget Alaniva, Gavin Johnson and Daniel Alaniva.

Florence dedicated her life to her family and her church, playing a very active role whenever possible to her children and grandchildren.  Friendships were also very near and dear to her heart.  As a long time member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church she was active in the Ladies Aid Society and a frequent volunteer with events and meals.  Her Lasagna and Shortbread recipes will be remembered and reused by many for years to come.  Up until her early 80s, Florence volunteered at the local pregnancy center helping to support young mothers.  She enjoyed her most recent years as a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Westland.

Friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 P.M.

Florence will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
