Elizabeth Joan Galbraith

Elizabeth Joan Galbraith, lovingly remembered for her devotion and nurturing spirit, passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Detroit on October 20, 1932, Elizabeth exemplified the qualities of a devoted and loving mother throughout her life.

In her role as a mother, Elizabeth was known for her dedication to her family, which was beautifully demonstrated in the way she packed seven lunches every day for her children when they were growing up. Her love extended far beyond the kitchen; she shared her warmth and kindness with everyone around her.

Elizabeth's contributions to her community were also remarkable. She delighted in playing Bingo and dedicated over eight years of her life volunteering at St. Mary's Hospital. Her compassion and willingness to help others were just a few of the many traits that endeared her to both friends and family alike. Additionally, she worked as a nanny for over twenty years, providing care and support to countless children.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ian Galbraith and her parents, James and Catherine Budde. Elizabeth is survived by her cherished children: Karen (William) Gauthier, James Galbraith, Paul (Connie) Galbraith, Robert (Patricia) Galbraith, along with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth's life will be honored during visitation on November 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM, both held at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home located at 280 S. Main St, Plymouth, MI 48170.

She will remain in the hearts of those she touched, a testament to the mark she has left on this world.
