Elfriede Roper

Elfriede Roper, age of 85 passed away on June 6, 2026.

She is the beloved and devoted wife of the late John Roper; loving mother of Donna Wade and Crystal Aherne; proud grandmother of Jenelle (Nicole), and Katelyn.

Elfriede is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings Ann (Harold) McElyea and Lisalottie Jankowski (Richie), and many nieces and nephews. She will join her sister Hildegard and brother Kurt as our guardian angels in heaven.

For many years, Elfriede proudly owned and operated Crystal’s Hair Fashions in Plymouth and Belleville. She had a successful hair salon and truly enjoyed serving her clients. She built lasting relationships and became a well-known member of the community.

However, her family as well as the community of Plymouth knew above all else in her life, her proudest moments in her life were with her family. They were the most important to Elfriede. She treasured her role as a mother and grandmother. The bond she shared with her daughters, Donna and Crystal was exceptionally close. She celebrated their accomplishments, and found immense happiness in the time they spent together. Elfriede was sadly preceded in death by her beloved daughter Crystal Aherne who passed away in 2024. She loved sharing her German heritage with her granddaughters and singing her way through each day with them.

Friends and family may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 10am until the time of the Funeral Service beginning at 11am.

Elfriede will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan following the service.

Friends and family are invited to join us in a Celebration of Life luncheon at Rose’s in Canton, Michigan following the burial.
