Eleanor G. Jones

Eleanor G. Jones, age 88 of Plymouth, Michigan passed away on April 22, 2023. 

She was born on July 29, 1934, in Flint, Michigan to her parents, the late Delia (Vaillancourt) and James Thibedeau.  Eleanor was the beloved and devoted wife of her husbands LaVerne M. Jones and James Otto; loving mother of four children, Eric (Mairi) Jones, Douglas (Gail) Jones, Suzanne Jones, and Nancy Broadway; proud grandmother of Jasmine (Casheen) Jones, Kelsey (Pete) Jones, Megan Jones, Claire Jones, Charles Jones, Desirae (Brad) Ott, Lottie (Lina) Broadway and Janeé Broadway.  She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her siblings, Janette Decker and Donald (Karon) Thibedeau.  She is pre-deceased by her husbands, LaVerne Jones and James Otto and son, Eric Jones.

Eleanor enjoyed life to the fullest.  She loved spending her winters in Florida surrounded by nature on Chokoloskee Island. She appreciated music in the park, swimming, visits and lunch with her friends and time with her children and grandchildren.  Eleanor was an adventurer and world traveler; including trips to China, Africa and Europe to name a few along with a120 day voyage on the Queen Mary II. 

Prior to retirement, Eleanor spent nearly 30 years as a Teacher Consultant and Reading Specialist with the Plymouth-Canton School District.  She received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education from The University of Michigan.

Family and friends may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Tuesday, April 25^th, 2023 from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 11441 Hubbard, Livonia, Michigan.  Eleanor will be in-state at 10:00 A.M. until the beginning of the Mass at 10:30 A.M.

Eleanor will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth, Michigan.
