Dixie Lee Fee, age 78 of Plymouth, passed away on June 3, 2025. Dixie was known for her strength, generosity, and love and support for her family and community.
She was born July 12, 1946 to the late Garnie (née Collins) and DeWitt Fee, Jr. Loving mother of John (Mary) Bangert and Debra (Gabriel) Costanzo. Proud grandmother of Gabriel (Lainie) Costanzo, Nicholas Costanzo, Stacy (John E.) Hosa, John Bangert, Jr. and great-grandmother to Charlie, Clay and Crew. She was the oldest of five children including her brothers Robert (Robbie) and Millard (Kathy) and is preceded in death by her sister, Brenda and brother, Chuck.
Dixie was born in Jenkins, Kentucky and had a love for Appalachian cooking in her cast iron skillet and sharing stories and photos from Kentucky. She was an avid family historian and spent many years meticulously documenting her family roots to the 1600s.
After retiring in 2012, she filled her time with many hobbies and interests although spending time with friends and family is what she enjoyed most. She was a skilled gardener. She had an eye for beauty and this was evident in her picturesque perennial gardens which were enjoyed by all. She was also an avid reader and involved in many book clubs throughout the years.
She connected with many through faith and was an involved member of her community and church, First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth where she served as a deacon. She lived a life of service and volunteered in many ways throughout her life including hospice care.
Dixie is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories and love they shared.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, 701 Church Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Saturday, June 28, 2025 beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. Following the Memorial Service, all are invited to attend a luncheon.
