Diane Kay Kent, age 81 of Plymouth, passed away on May 13, 2026. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert J. Kent; loving mother of two children, Kathryn (Thomas) Moss and Robert (Jennifer) Kent, and proud grandmother of three grandchildren, Alexandra Moss, Andrew Moss, and Erik Moss. Diane will also be greatly missed by her siblings, Jaquelyn (Elvin) Stephens and Debbie (Jeffrey) Tatro, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Diane was born on September 27, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents, the late Edna (née Hall) and Charles William Beasley and was predeceased by her sister Linda Beasley. Diane earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayne State University. She worked as an elementary school teacher until the birth of her children. She later went on to earn an Associate of Science in Nursing. She spent the majority of her life’s work as a dedicated charge nurse and case manager supporting those in need in group home settings. Her family says she was “the ultimate caregiver” who gave care and comfort so freely to family, friends and anyone in need. Her dedication to her family was unmatched. She was the family anchor, the person you turned to in times of triumph and times of trial.
Beyond her work, Diane found so much delight and fulfillment from her family, friends, hobbies and passions. From cruising the world, visiting her grandchildren, scrapbooking weekends with friends, golf leagues, bible study, gardening and church service, the connections she made and nurtured brought her so much joy. She maintained lifelong friendships and was a dearly loved friend to many. She was a founding member of Geneva Presbyterian Church in Canton, and their outpouring of love and support over the years meant so much to Diane.
Friends and family may visit the Schrader-Howell Funeral Home, 280 South Main Street, Plymouth, Michigan on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Visitation is 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. with service beginning at 3:00 P.M.
Those who wish to honor the memory of Diane Kay Kent are invited to make a contribution to Geneva Presbyterian Church, 5835 Sheldon Road, Canton, Michigan 48187.
Contribution envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
