Diana A. Romain, age 85 of Plymouth passed away on August 6, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and the love of a devoted family.

She was born on August 11, 1940 in Wellingborough, England to her parents, the late Fred and Audrey Smith. Diana is the beloved and devoted wife of the late Douglas Romain; loving mother of two children – Melissa Mersch of Novi and Aaron Romain of Plymouth; proud grandmother of Teresa Miller (Mersch), Danielle Koep (Mersch), Abigail Wuillaume (Romain), Joseph Romain, Sarah Romain and great-grandmother of Maple (born of Teresa) Elizabeth, Penelope and Michael (born of Danielle), and Max and Paul (twins born of Abigail). She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her younger brother Adam Smith. She was predeceased by her older brother, Paul Smith.

Diana found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader who always enjoyed getting lost in the pages of a good book. She especially loved spending time at her cottage on Saginaw Bay in Sebewaing, Michigan where the peaceful waters provided a place of relaxation, reflection and treasured moments with family and friends.

For many years, Diana worked as a Cosmetologist, a profession she truly enjoyed. She valued the friendships she formed with her coworkers and clients alike, and her caring nature and warm personality made everyone feel welcomed.

Above all, Diana’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving mother to her children and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She delighted in spending time with those she loved most and created memories that will be treasured for generations.

Diana will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, kind heart, and quiet appreciation for the beauty found in books, family, and the waters of Saginaw Bay. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Priscilla Catholic Church in Livonia. Diana will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
