David J. Rocker

David J. Rocker passed away on January 14th, 2024 at the age of 73 in his hometown of Plymouth, MI after a couragous 10 year battle with lymphoma. Dave is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Sue, loving son Corey (Brandi), and dog Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude & Charlotte, and his siblings Claudia & William.

Dave was a life long resident of the Plymouth community, graduating from Plymouth High School in 1968, and Eastern Michigan University in 1975 with a Bachelors of Science degree. He worked for Plymouth Township and then spent the rest of his 35 year career with the Plymouth-Canton Community School District as a mechanic, bus route coordinator, and finally Transportation Director. Post retirement, Dave continued to be active with PCCS coordinating the crossing guards. The bus drivers always said he was the best boss, treating everyone with kindness and respect. From childhood, he enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at the lake with family in northern lower Michigan. He was also well known for walking his beloved Brittany dogs around the local community.

An informal gathering to celebrate Dave's life, on what would have been his 74th birthday, will be held at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home in Plymouth on Saturday, January 27th between 1pm and 4pm, with a brief memorial service to follow.
