Daniel J. Ellis

Daniel J. Ellis, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in Livonia, Michigan. Born on July 26, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Daniel's life was marked by love, dedication, and the deep bonds he shared with his family.

He is survived by his three loving children: Eric Ellis, Jason Ellis and his wife Jeanie, and Shannon Oxley. Daniel’s joy was further enriched by his many grandchildren, Lewis, Celia, Daniel, Sebastian, Rosie, Matthew, Savannah, and Sabrina, who brought continuous warmth and happiness into his heart and soul. He also leaves behind his sister, Jeannette Abejean, who shared in the many chapters of his life.

Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith, whose memory he held dear throughout his life.

The family will receive friends and loved ones during a visitation on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home located at 280 S. Main St, Plymouth, Michigan. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Daniel’s life will follow on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM, also at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home.

Daniel's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the love of his family and the memories he created with all whose lives he touched. As his family and friends gather to remember him, they are comforted by the profound impact he had and the enduring presence he maintains in their lives.
