Daniel John Dankoff

At the age of 90, Daniel John Dankoff passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026 leaving behind a life filled with love, family, friendship, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

He was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 6, 1935 to his parents, the late Francis (née Swieczkowski) and John Dankoff.

For more than fifty years, Daniel shared his life with his beloved partner, Sally Fedus. Their relationship was one of love, companionship, friendship, and unwavering devotion. They were partners in every sense of the word, sharing life’s joys, interests, and adventures together. Their story began in 1975 in Dearborn, Michigan, where Daniel met Sally while he was working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.

Daniel dedicated his professional life to helping others. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, he worked with adults living with physical and emotional disabilities, helping them recognize their abilities and prepare for employment that was meaningful and suited to their individual strengths. His career allowed him to make a difference in the lives of many people.

He and Sally shared many interests throughout their years together. Both were avid golfers and, for many years, enjoyed spending time on the golf course together and with friends two to three times a week. They also shared a love of bridge and, for approximately 26 years, played several times a week, enjoying not only the game itself but also the friendships and fellowship that came with it.

Those who knew Daniel will remember his dry sense of humor and his easy going personality. He was the kind of person who was simply loved by those around him. He cherished his family, treasured his friendships, and had a special love for dogs.

He will be lovingly remembered by his longtime life partner, Sally; his daughter, Pamela Dankoff-Jeffries of Belleville, Michigan; his son, Timothy (Linda) Dankoff of Sparks, Nevada; his grandchildren, Jay (Amanda) Dankoff and Christopher Dankoff; and his great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Lilly, Daya and Robbie.

Daniel leaves behind a life well lived, a family who loved him dearly, and a lifetime of memories shared with the people who meant the most to him. His quiet wit, kind spirit, love of family, and the special bond he shared with Sally will be remembered and treasured always. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. A time for sharing memories will begin at 6:00 P.M.
