Connie Argonis

Today we said goodbye to our beloved mom, Connie Matson Argonis, PCEP Teacher, after a long and tender farewell. She was a devoted wife of 65 years, a loving Mom, cherished Nana, proud Great Grandma, and the steady heart of our family.

Above all, she was a Teacher.

Connie earned her Master’s Degree in Mathematics at a time when few women pursued advanced degrees in the field. In the 1960s, she was offered the opportunity to work with NASA during the early days of the space program — an extraordinary honor in an extraordinary era. Yet she chose a different path. She followed her true calling: Teaching.

For her, teaching was never just a profession. It was a passion and a purpose. She believed in the power of education, in the beauty of numbers, and in the potential within every student who sat in her classroom. Her impact rippled far beyond lesson plans and report cards — it lives on in the confidence she built, the curiosity she sparked, and the lives she quietly shaped over decades.

At home, she taught us even more — about perseverance, kindness, commitment, and love. Her 65-year marriage was a testament to devotion. Her family was her greatest joy and proudest achievement.

The long goodbye does not diminish the fullness of her life. It reminds us how deeply she was loved.

We carry forward her lessons, her strength, and her example. And in every problem solved, every child encouraged, and every act of quiet dedication, her legacy continues.
